- Nasson Bike Center is looking for volunteers! The Nasson Bike Center is a resource for local youth looking for a bike, fix a bike, needing some community service time, or wanting to learn some mechanical and problem solving skills. We are looking for volunteers to mentor our kids as they rebuild bikes making them safe and reliable. We are open Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons from 2 to 5:00 year round. There is no requirement that the volunteer participate a certain number of hours. It is helpful that they participate on a regular schedule. Read more.

Help Us Feed Qualified Local Students in Need!
The BACKPACK program was established to provide weekend meals for local students that could use a little help when school lunches are not provided.
Funds raised in the tournament stay in the Sanford/Springvale community. Thanks to the work of many, the BACKPACK program has been a success in our area, but there remains a growing need for assistance to deserving students.
Mark your calendars for a very worthwhile cause!

Hello friends of Stuff the Bus!
As the school year is winding down, it’s time for Stuff the Bus to kick into high gear! Last year I am proud to announce that we served 2600 low-income school aged children, 39 teachers and 21 military families! I am deeply grateful to all those who take part in some way to make this amazing event possible!
This will be the 8th year for Stuff the Bus. Please reply if you plan to contribute or volunteer in some way.
Our distribution event will take place on August 20th from 9 am to Noon at Curtis Lake Church, by appointment. I would like to personally thank them for allowing me to use their wonderful building to hold my event. They also provide super awesome volunteers that help to make this a blessed event for our youth in need.
We can also use volunteers for our Bus Dates. We will be collecting school supplies on Aug. 6th, 12th, and 13th from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm at the Sanford Walmart.
Registration for families who need assistance opens July 1st.

On Thursday, August 25th, the Sanford Police Department will once again be hosting Sanford’s Annual Night Out. The department, led by Chief Thomas Connolly, is inviting community partners to participate in the event, which runs from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. In recent years, anywhere from 400 to 600 Sanford / Springvale residents have come out to enjoy a free meal served by Sanford’s finest. This is a great opportunity to get information out into the community. For more information or to register as a community partner, please contact Nichole Ivey directly.
This is a FREE event!
The Drug Free Communities (DFC) initiative is a community-wide effort of youth, parents, business leaders, schools, police officers, faith communities, health care providers, and others to decrease alcohol, marijuana and prescription drug use among Greater Sanford’s youth and adults.
