Strategies For A Stronger Sanford is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a 2-year grant from United Way of York County totaling $8,000. This investment will allow the Sanford Junior High School PTA to manage the details of bringing Challenge Day to Sanford youth.
Challenge Days are holistic and experiential programs. Instead of talking at people, this program engages them in exercises that provoke deep internal insights and empathy for others breaking down walls of isolation and connecting youth to work on some of the root causes of bullying and depression. United Way of York County improves lives by mobilizing people, resources and expertise. They are investing in 63 community programs that serve children, youth, adults, and families.
