- Nasson Bike Center is looking for volunteers! The Nasson Bike Center is a resource for local youth looking for a bike, fix a bike, needing some community service time, or wanting to learn some mechanical and problem solving skills. We are looking for volunteers to mentor our kids as they rebuild bikes making them safe and reliable. We are open Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons from 2 to 5:00 year round. There is no requirement that the volunteer participate a certain number of hours. It is helpful that they participate on a regular schedule. Read more.

December 2019 – June 2020
Family vacations and memories often come flooding back to our minds this time of year. But vacations were not always a yearly thing. Join Bethel resident and historian David Jones at the Goodall Memorial Library at 6 pm for Holidays Past: A Brief History of Touring and Vacationing in New England.
Using illustrative maps courtesy of The Osher Map Library, Jones will talk about how development, transportation innovations, and urbanization contributed to the concept of family vacations. Looking at the rise in tourism and vacationing in the 19th and 20th centuries, Jones will talk about why people went on vacation, where they went and how they got there.
Light refreshments will be served.
